Brief History

Business Incubation Center (BIC) was established at UOM in collaboration with Higher Education Commission (HEC) and notified on 29th April 2015. Prof. Dr. Rashid initiated the process, in early January 2014, by bringing the university onboard with HEC BIC team in the R&D Division. Mr. Fazli Subhan was appointed the Focal Person for establishment of BIC at UOM. The grant was approved on July 02, 2014, followed by the formal notification by the University in 2015.


The objective of BIC at University of Malakand is to play a significant role in promotion of entrepreneurial activities and commercializing the innovative products developed in result of research conducted at UOM, thereby facilitating the practical application of knowledge for public use. It aims to facilitate the creation of ideas and inventions that benefit society. BIC facilitates startups from UOM, other HEIs and community.

The office's vision is to enable and lead University of Malakand in becoming a leading center for the promotion and development of entrepreneurship, and for producing high growth and impact startups.


The mission of the Business Incubation Center is to promote entrepreneurship and to nurture new businesses from idea generation stage and accelerate their journey towards growth and success by providing budding entrepreneurs with a comprehensive and integrated range of support services in a systemized way. This will also ensure commercialization of new research and a steady flow of new businesses with above average job and wealth creation potential leading to economic and social development at local, regional, and national level.
